Maggie Lynn Reasons Arrives!

November 30, 2010 Maggie Lynn Reasons arrived today!!

Courtney and Keith left home at 4:30 on this cold Tuesday morning headed for the hospital so that the physician could induce labor since our little girl had not come even though her mom had labor pains for over a week. Here's a picture of them as they were walking out the door. Keith just loves these type pictures!!

Danny and I arrived at the hospital around 9 and Lynn (Keith's mom) came around 10 or so. Courtney and Keith were in good spirits eventhough she was in pain. We took turns going for lunch as we didn't want to eat in front of Courntey who wasn't allowed to eat anything except ice chips.

At 3:00 PM, the nurse said she was at 10 cm and ready to push. We all excitedly left the room leaving all our belongings behind thinking that little Maggie Lynn would arrive in just a few minutes. We waited and waited. Lauren & Rebecca, Keith's sisters, and Randy Reasons came. Seth Reeves (Lauren's boyfriend) arrived and still no baby.

Well, 3 long anxious (especially for me) hours later, Keith came out to tell us that the baby was born and was perfect! I can't tell you how relieved we were. Yahoo! Courtney was OK and so was our sweet baby! Here's Lynn hugging Keith!

Sweet new family.

Keith and Courtney are adjusting well to having a baby even though they are tired from lack of sleep. Maggie Lynn had jaundice for a few days, but she is thriving and such a beautiful sweet baby girl! The Lord has blessed our family once again!

Thanksgiving 2010

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Danny and I left home headed for Memphis with hopes that Courtney would deliver Maggie Lynn before Thanksgiving. No such luck, so the two of us were able to travel to Forest, Mississippi, to celebrate Turkey Day with my siblings. What a blessing that all 5 of us were able to get together -- Jim and Janice from Cincinnati, Louise from Ruston (Leonard went with his daughter, Marlene, to Florida), Louisiana, Rancie and Billy from Forest, Mississippi, Al and Marilyn from Clinton, Mississippi, and the two of us from Springdale.
Also gathered with us were Gene, Amy and Sean Cummins from Plattville, Alabama and Marilyn's mother, Betty DuFrene from Louisiana.

The day was perfect--- a pleasant autumn day which allowed us to be out on their big porch and in their yard. We ate way too much as each family provided various dishes and desserts for the feast. We all look forward to any opportunity to eat some of Rancie and Billy's delicious garden vegetables, and they came through again with some of the best! We so enjoyed visiting, catching up on each other's news, and sharing funny stories from the past.

Before leaving, Billy gave us a big bag of turnip greens to enjoy when we got home. (THANK YOU, BILLY! THEY WERE GREAT!) He and Rancie had a bountiful crop this year and put up a sign along the road that said "Free Greens." They didn't have anyone to stop, BUT, when he changed the sign to "Greens for Sale" he sold $35 worth at $1.00 per bag full. Isn't that crazy?

Around mid-afternoon, Danny and I headed back to Memphis in case Maggie Lynn decided to come. Here are a few pictures of our time together.

Hospice "Voyage" Dinner

My, it's been a while since I've had time to update my blog. We've been really busy these past few weeks, so here goes...

Soon after our train trip, Danny and I hosted a table at the Circle of Life Hospice "Voyage" Fund Raising Dinner on November 20 at the John Q Hammonds Convention Center. There were 10 of us at our table, and we enjoyed our time together. The silent auctions was fun, the food was superb, but the Arkansas vs Mississippi State game that was playing on the big screen in the silent auction room was the hit! It went in to the third overtime before Arkansas won. I believe that Danny and I were the only 2 MSU fans there, so we didn't yell out too much for fear of being harmed. LOL!!

Here are our guests: Jeannie Gillmore, Marcia Coward, Kathy and Gary Turner, Lana and Dwayne Drummonds, and Marilyn and Tom Kilpatrick.

The theme this year was music through the generations. Music from the different decades were being played while guest milled around though the restaurant buffets: Copeland's, Olive Garden, Oseguera's, Golden Corral, Dickey's Barbeque Pit, Market Place, Bonefish Grill, Famous Daves, Formosa Chinese Restaurant, Fred's Hickory Inn, Neal's Cafe, Rick's, Spring Creek Andy's. YUM!
