Abilene, Texas

Well, it's been three months since our last trip away from Springdale! We enjoyed having all our kids and Grands here for Christmas. But we've been pretty much "Snowed In" during January and February....six snows and over 22 inches this last time. Our plans to travel to Jason and Karla's two weeks ago were canceled due to the snow. We were finally able to visit with them this past weekend (February 24 - 27). What a delight! I know I'm partial, but we really do have WONDERFUL GRANDS.... in Abilene and in Memphis!

We had so much fun with our children and grandchildren! Jason and Karla are such great parents! Karla is teaching Kaila English and Spanish at the same time, and Kaila can roll her R's with the best of them! Sure puts Nana to shame! She and Alexa both go to Rainbow School a couple of days a week while Karla works part time as a school psychologist for the Abilene Schools. Jason stays very busy as husband, dad, youth minister for the University Church, and taking a couple of classes at ACU this semester! A full schedule of spring and summer activities have already been planned for the youth groups..... Danny and I will most likely return to visit them and care for the girls while Jason and Karla go on an upcoming weekend retreat! YAY!

We left after lunch on Sunday and the temperature was 88 degrees! Today back in Springdale the temperature was in the low 40's. BRRRR! I'm ready for SPRING!

Our next trip will be to Oakland (near Memphis) to care for Maggie Lynn while Courney works each day that week! Yipee! This is what retirement is all about!! Until later.... Maggie
