Museum of The Confederacy and The Confederate White House

Friday, May 13th. found us headed to Richmond, Virginia to explore. On the way there, I received a call from a real estate client who wanted to place an offer on a property we had toured the previous week. Danny and I spent the morning in a Richmond Public Library online writing up the offer and sending it to my client for approval and on to the listing agent. Unfortunately, the offer wasn't accepted, so the morning was basically a waste of time.

Around 1:00 PM we grabbed a quick lunch and then proceeded to drive around in Richmond looking at monuments. We weren't able to see much as it was raining and very overcast. Here a photo of the Robert E. Lee monument taken from inside our car as we passed by.

Finally around 2:30 we located the Museum of the Confederacy in the very crowded downtown area. After parking and walking in the rain to the museum, we only had a couple of hours to tour the museum and the White House of the Confederacy, but that didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying our tours.

Our guide through the White House was superb and really made history come alive! We could have spent a lot more time exploring the museum, but they ran us out at 5:00 PM. Still a good day all in all. Leaving the museum, we headed to Virginia Beach for the weekend.
